Strategic Account Executive

Flexible Location

Small and medium businesses are the lifeblood of our economy.  If we didn’t fully appreciate this before, the recent pandemic has brought it front and center.  As we look to rebuild our communities, we will look to influential businesses (both on Main Street and virtually) to shape growth and transformation.  Our communities can continue to thrive with exciting real estate projects, artisan food and beverage businesses, and e-commerce companies who build virtual communities for us to pursue our passions.  All of these will be critically important to the revitalization of our economy and to shaping a bright future.

Honeycomb is a first-of-its-kind loan crowdfunding website that helps offer an equitable and fair platform for businesses to borrow money from their own friends, fans, and community members.  We are a fast-paced, high-growth startup looking for a fearless, motivated, and enthusiastic salesperson who shares these values and wants to help small businesses thrive!

In the Strategic Account Executive role, you’ll be working with businesses across the country that have:

  • Annual revenue ranging from $2M to $20M+

  • Successfully completed crowdfunding campaigns before

  • Demonstrated deep community support

  • Achieved early success and are looking for $250k to $5M in fair funding to support growth projects

We’re looking for an energetic, high-impact sales professional that has:

  • Self-motivation.  You’ll be working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. We don’t wait around until someone tells us what to do next.  You also are constantly thinking about ways to become more efficient with your time.

  • Creativity within the lines.  You are able to come up with a creative solution within the rules and parameters.

  • Charisma without an ego.  You are as comfortable on the phone with an administrative assistant as you are with a CEO.

  • A collaborative mindset.  A win for you, is a win for me, is a win for our team, and ultimately is a win for Honeycomb as a whole.

  • An aversion to dogma.  You challenge the status quo and constantly ask “how can we do this better next time?”

  • Drive and grit.  You can see the finish line and are able to build a plan to get there.  You focus on your monthly goals and understand how your daily activities will unlock long term success.

  • A love of learning. Our team is at its best when we’re armed with deep knowledge of our product and the continually evolving regulatory and competitive landscape.

The ideal candidate probably has some or all of these skills:

  • Experience working with key decision-makers at small and medium-sized businesses that are locally-owned and operated

  • Amazing people skills whether over the phone, in person, or via email

  • Process orientation, a CRM fanatic

  • Unafraid to hear “no”

  • Experience managing a diverse portfolio of clients

  • Ability create urgency with ingenuity
